“My father went to Xi An when I first learned to walk. It was said he went to support the construction of the new type of city in the Northwest. He was an ideal intellectual, but pursued nothing and went nowhere for many years. He didn't become the manager of a restaurant until he was forty years old. Soon after the wedding—my mother was only in her twenties—the government called for construction support, he participated in it immediately as the young people do.”

 “Now I think of it, I was like a dog returning to the old nest, desperately pursuing the traces of the past with his nose. Now, no matter how I find the impression of my father, I can’t remember anything—only the furniture and decoration still retain his outdated taste. Later, we moved several times. The places we lived were worse one after another, but my mother always tried to retain those atmospheres.”
 

The entire work recalls the story of an ordinary family by rebuilding two spaces in a way of back in time. The first space imitates the structure of a screening room from the last century. The main part of this space is a short film of about fifteen minutes. The content of the film focuses on the daughter—Jiahuan—as she tells us about her family, specifically her parents. The second space is based on memories from Jiahuan, restoring the appearance of the family space in multiple moves. Walking route of the entire space goes back in time, echoing the events mentioned in the text in the film. It documents several events, from the present and future prospects of Jiahuan, to the moment of her home being searched and confiscated, the time when her father left and when Jiahuan was born, and finally going to the space when her parents got married.
